The New York University men's track and field team traveled to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY, for its first indoor meet of 2026 on Friday, January 16.
The Violets logged three top-15 finishes at the NYC Gotham Cup.
Sophomore Tyler Burch notched his first collegiate win in the 60m final, taking first with a 7.14 finish. The time is a collegiate best for Burch.
James Jenkins represented the Violets in the 3000m competition, placing 11th in 8:48.15.
At the jumps pit, Nishad Sankar finished 15th with a 12.11m best in the triple jump.
The Violets return to action on Friday, January 23, at the Dr. Sanders Scorcher, hosted by Columbia University at the Track and Field Center at The Armory.
