"I've put a lot of time and effort and work into my game, and I guess this is a testament to all that effort," Stone said. "And, I have to thank my teammates for putting me in a position to reach this level. "
NYU's graduate student scored 910 points as an undergraduate at Carnegie Mellon University.
"I had some nerves when I first came here, but these guys have been so welcoming and helpful in this transition," Stone added. "This is the closest-knit team in the country and I think it shows on the court."
Zay Freeney led the Violets, with 19 points while
Emmanuel Onuama finished with 15.
Tristan How led the squad with 12 rebounds while adding eight points.
The Violets return to the court on Sunday and Monday, December 29-30, when they host the NYU Holiday Tournament at the Paulson Center.
