Women's Tennis Defeats William Smith

Violets Post 9-0 Victory

The New York University women's tennis tennis, ranked #25 in the nation by the ITA, recorded a 9-0 shutout of William Smith College on Saturday, March 11, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx, NY.

The Violets won all three doubles and all six singles matches to improve its season record to a perfect 4-0.

NYU got off to a quick start in doubles as Dakota Fordham and Ida Krause shutout their opponents 8-0. The Violets #2 doubles tandem of Aditi Narayan and Molly Heber, as well as the #3 pair of Jimena Menendez and Anastasiia Balyk, were almost as dominant with 8-2 victories.

Each of NYU's singles wins were recorded in straight sets. Only Glenda Boeker at #4 singles needed to go to a tie-breaking third set to insure her victory.

The Violets play again on Saturday, hosting Endicott College in an evening match-up set to begin at 6:30pm.
