Men's Basketball Receives At-Large Bid to NCAA Tournament

Violets dancing for the first time since 2015-16

New York University's men's basketball team has secured an at-large berth to the 2023 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament, announced this afternoon via the NCAA's Selection Show.

The Violets, who closed the regular season with five straight University Athletic Association (UAA) wins, are in the NCAA postseason for the first time since 2015-16 and will be heading to the University of Mount Union in Alliance, OH, for a first round matchup against Lancaster Bible College on Friday, March 3.

Under first-year head coach Dave Klatsky, NYU finished the regular season with an 18-7 record and 7-7 mark in the UAA. Klatsky set a new standard for the most wins by a first-year head coach in program history while the team achieved its most UAA wins since 2015-16 and finished .500-or-above in the league for the first time since that year as well.
