The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced their Team Academic Excellence Awards on Wednesday, naming the New York University men's basketball team as one of the recipients. In addition, 12 Violets made the NABC Honors Court.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
The NYU individual honorees on the NABC Honors Court were Quinn Clark, Aidan Clarke, Alex Daniels, Vinny Ferrari, Darius Gakwasi, Luke Kolaja, Declan McIntyre, David Petrusev, Darren Rubin, Jonathan Sigurdsson, Matt Volkening, and Andrew Waldman.
The Violets had a successful 2025-26 season, posting an 18-9 record and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Rubin led the team with 103 assists during the 2025-26 season, while Clark was team-high in rebounds per game (6.6). Kolaja ranked third on the squad in both points per game (13.9) and rebounds (5.4).
