In the teams' final tuneups before indoor championship season, the New York University Track & Field programs competed at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational on February 11-12 in Boston, MA.
The women kicked the event off on Friday as four Violets set new personal records in their respective events.
Kamila Sanusi notched a personal-best time in the 400m, completing the race in 1:04.11, while
Gabrielle Stankosh recorded a PR in the 800m with a time of 2:25.09.
Katherine Cheng collected her own personal record in the mile run, crossing the finish line in 5:17.80.
Michelle Uvieghara shined in the women's shot put, tossing a personal-best 11.29 meters.
On Saturday,
Jon Diaz ran a personal-best 1:53.01 in the 800m, finishing 49th in a field of 226 runners.
Brett Asay also ran a season-best time of 1:56.85 in the race.
In the 3,000m,
Ryan Tobin ran a personal-best 8:24.79, while in the 200m
Zion Glover posted a personal-best 22.71.
Triple jumper
Oliver Fideler landed a personal-best mark of 12.81m.
In addition to the Valentine Invitational, a pair of men's runners competed in the 5,000m at the Gordon Kelly Invitational at MIT.
Mubeen Zainul placed third (15:49.23) and Ben Haber took sixth (16:33.06) in the event.
Both squads return to action when they compete at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Championships on Saturday and Sunday, February 26-27, at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.
