New York University's Men's Track & Field Team continued its 2022 indoor schedule at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic on Sunday, January 30 in Boston, MA.
The Violet women competed at the Classic on Friday as yesterday's session was pushed due to the winter storm.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Zion Glover tied for sixth overall and second among Division III runners in the 60-meter dash with a personal-best time of 7.21 seconds.
- Matt Marcelo raced in the 60-meter as well, finishing 13th out of 38 entrants with his own personal-best time (7.37).
- Ryan Tobin was third among Division III finishers in the 3K, coming in 58th overall (8:30.65).
- Glover also competed in the 200-meter, placing 74th out of 108 runners (personal-best 23.49). Dillon Bickerton was right behind him at 78th (23.69).
- Daniel Akande paced NYU in the 400-meter, finishing 64th with a season-best time of 54.19 seconds.
- Brett Asay was the 58th harrier to cross the line in the 800-meter, clocking in at 1:57.24.
- Juan Ochoa represented the Violets in the pole vault, posting a 3.55-meter result.
- Nicholas Ankuta made his collegiate track debut, running the 5K in 15:11.29.
NEXT UP:
The Violets compete at the NYC DIII Invitational on Friday, February 4. The event is split between the Armory in Manhattan and Ocean Breeze on Staten Island.
