UAA Release

Eighty-seven New York University student-athletes have earned 2018-19 University Athletic Association (UAA) Winter Sport All-Academic honors, it was announced on Tuesday, February 19. 

Student-athletes representing five men's and four women's sports (basketball, indoor track & field, swimming & diving, fencing, and wrestling) were honored.

Men's indoor track & field and men's fencing led the way with 14 selections each. The women's swimming & diving team had 12 honorees. The women's fencing team followed with 10. The men's swimming & diving team had eight representatives, while women's basketball and women's track & field each had eight. 
Seven wrestlers and five men's basketball players were also honored. 

UAA All-Academic recognition is given to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and carry a minimum of a 3.30 grade point average -- the same academic qualifying standard used by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the nomination of Academic All-America candidates in all sports.
