Men's Basketball Set for Holiday Classic

Violets Host Gettysburg, Bridgewater State and Manhattanville at Coles

Freshman Ross Udine is currently averaging 7.3 assists per game for the Violets.


The New York University men's basketball team will host the 2015 NYU Holiday Classic on Friday and Saturday, January 2-3, at the Coles Sports Center in Manhattan.

NYU heads into the Classic with a 5-2 record and is led by its junior frontcourt tandem of Evan Kupferberg and Costis Gontikas. Kupferberg is currently averaging 18.4 ppg and 11.6 rpg, while Gontikas is averaging 15.0 ppg and 7.9 rpg.

The Violets will open Friday's doubleheader against Gettysburg College (6-3) at 2:00 pm. Friday's second game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm and will feature Bridgewater State University (5-3) and Manhattanville College (4-5).

Gettyburg and Manhattanville will then play Saturday afternoon at 12:00 pm before the Violets conclude the Classic against Bridgewater State at 2:00 pm.
