The 2012-13 Tear It Up! schedule continues on Friday, February 15, with the basketball teams' doubleheader against University Athletic Association (UAA) foe Washington University.
The Tear It Up! is also the NYU's Department of Athletics' sixth annual Pink Zone event. NYU Athletics, with assistance from the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), will be raising money to benefit the
Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, which funds support services and outreach for people affected by breast cancer in the Hudson Valley. Last year, NYU Athletics raised more than $2,600 to benefit Miles of Hope through its Pink Zone event.
The Tear It Up! and Pink Zone events start at 5:45 pm at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center. The women's basketball contest against the 13th-ranked Bears tips off at 6:00 pm, while the men's basketball team's game against 17th-ranked Washington begins at 8:00 pm.
All NYU students in attendance will receive food and a t-shirt with a suggested donation of $3 to Miles of Hope. All others in attendance can purchase a t-shirt with a $15 donation to Miles of Hope.
