In its final road University Athletic Association (UAA) game of the season, the New York University women's basketball team fell 76-56 at Carnegie Mellon University on Sunday, February 10, in Pittsburgh, PA.
The Violets (8-14, 1-10) could not complete the season sweep of the Tartans (13-9, 5-6), as Carnegie Mellon led the entire way while holding NYU to just 31.8% (21-66) shooting from the floor.
Highlights
- After trailing by 14 at halftime, 39-25, the Violets got as close as 10 early in the second half, but were unable to get the Tartans' lead to single digits.

Megan Dawe and
Nicole Lem led NYU with 13 points apiece. Dawe added nine rebounds, while Lem had seven boards and three steals.

Cassidy Jourdan recorded eight points and three assists.

Riley Wurtz and
Maya Wasowicz doled out four assists each, with Wasowicz adding five points and two steals.

Melissa Peng scored six points. Both she and Wasowicz drew charges on the defensive end.
- Emily Peel paced Carnegie Mellon with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Lindsay Poss also had a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards, while Gabrielle West netted 13 points to go along with five assists.
“Carnegie Mellon hit some big shots and capitalized on our mistakes,” said Head Coach
Lauren Hall-Gregory. “Our goal is to take the floor on Tuesday and prepare for Wash. U. on Friday.”
The Violets return home for a Tear It Up! contest against 12th-ranked Washington University on Friday, February 15. Game time is at 6:00 pm.
