The 2012-13 Tear It Up! schedule continues on Friday, February 1, with the basketball teams' doubleheader against University Athletic Association (UAA) foe University of Rochester.
The Tear It Up! event starts at 5:45 pm at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center. The women's basketball contest against the Yellowjackets tips off at 6:00 pm, with the men's game immediately after at 8:00 pm.
The Violet women and men will be returning home after back-to-back weekends on the road. Both will be looking to avenge losses to first-place Rochester teams exactly one week ago.
On the men's side, the Yellowjackets will enter as the #1 ranked team in Division III. At a perfect 18-0, Rochester is one of just two unbeaten teams left in the nation.
In last year's first Tear It Up! men's basketball game, NYU knocked off Emory University, ranked #4 in Division III at the time, en route to an NCAA Tournament season.
Students with their NYU ID who make a $3 donation to the Serious Fun Foundation will receive free food and t-shirts. Students should arrive early to take part in all of the festivities.
