New York University Athletics has announced the hiring of Kieran Cantwell as an Assistant Communications Manager.

Cantwell joins NYU after working as the Director of Athletic Communications at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA, for two years. Prior to that, he worked as a Production Assistant for NBCUniversal's Access Hollywood / E! News in Universal City, CA.

A 2023 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film, Television, and Theatre, Cantwell served as a team manager for the men's basketball team and as the Station Manager for NDTV.

"Kieran possesses an enormous amount of experience and accomplishments in the field of Athletic Communications and will be a great contributor to the overall success of this department," said NYU Director of Athletic Communications, Jeffrey Bernstein. "So happy to have him with us." 

In his role, Cantwell will oversee the broadcasting and statistical operations of all NYU Athletics home events, as well as assist in the day-to-day operations of the department.

"I'm excited to join such a prestigious program at NYU and contribute to the continued growth of its Athletic Communications Department," said Cantwell. "With my background in sports broadcasting, I intend to continue expanding upon the experienced and professional look of all NYU Athletics live-streamed events."

A native of West Hills, CA, Cantwell resides in Jersey City, NJ.
