The New York University men's tennis team dropped a tight 4-3 match to Skidmore College on Saturday, April 18, in Saratoga Springs, NY.
In doubles play, the Violets won two of the three matches to secure a point.
Bryan Hui and Niklas von Hellens earned a 7-6 victory at No. 1, while the No. 3 duo of Louis Frowein and Boris Slesarev secured a 6-3 win.
In singles action, the Violets were only able to secure two out of six match-ups.
At No. 1, Niklas von Hellens earned a 6-4, 6-3 victory. Louis Frowein also secured a win for the Violets at No. 3, finishing with a 6-4, 6-2 score.
"The team played with a lot of heart and battled until the very last point," said Assistant Coach Ron Moreno. "They had the right attitude, but gave up too many key points, which is what made the difference."
The Violets will return to the courts on Sunday, April 19, when they face Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.
