New York University's baseball team (9-13, 3-8) continued its four-game series in a doubleheader against Brandeis University (14-11, 6-5) on Saturday, April 11, in Waltham, MA. The Violets lost yesterday in the first game of the series but split the doubleheader on Saturday.
Game one was a back-and-forth affair until the Violets scored nine unanswered runs to win their third UAA game of the season. NYU went quiet offensively in game two, as Brandeis went on to a register a run-rule win after seven innings.
Game 1: 17-5 New York University
Aidan Howladar's RBI single in the second inning opened the game's scoring, as NYU gained its first lead of the series.

Kosta Mocklis hit his fifth of the season in the third inning to extend the lead to 2-0.
Trailing 3-2 in the top of the fifth,
Jack Kelman sent a shot over the left field fence to start a six-run fifth inning for the Violets.
Dominic Holton was another Violet to homer in the inning, hitting a three-run shot to make the score 8-3.
The Violets led the Judges 9-5 before a seventh-inning explosion. Holton remained hot at the plate in his next at-bat with a two-run triple. The Violets went on to score five runs in the inning to go up 14-5.
NYU scored another three in the top half of the eighth while keeping Brandeis scoreless in the final three innings to walk away with the game one run-rule win.
Game 2: 27-3 Brandeis University
The Judges' pitching was dominant in game two, holding the Violets to just three hits.
Brandeis opened the game with a first-inning run before opening a 22-0 advantage after the fourth.
NYU broke Jacob Maurer's no-hitter with a
Bobby Kuenzler single in the top half of the fifth. The Violets went on to score three runs in inning.
Brandeis added another five runs to their total and finished the game in run-rule fashion.
Notable Stats:
- CJ Franchini extended his hit streak to 10 games (didn't play in game two)
- Mocklis hit his 16th career home run and Kelman hit the first of his career
- Nine different Violets recorded an RBI in game one (season-high)
- Ansel Balmer struck out five of the 11 batters he faced in game one
