Women's Soccer Fit to be Tied

#25 Violets Settle for Home Draw with Scranton

The New York University women's soccer team, currently ranked #25 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll, finished in a 0-0 draw with the University of Scranton on Tuesday, September 30, at Lubetkin Field in Newark, NJ.

The Violets (8-1-2) extended their unbeaten streak to nine straight, while the Royals are now 6-2-2.

There were not many scoring opportunities in the contest, and not much action for NYU goalkeeper Mia Capo as Scranton did not muster a shot on goal.

NYU out-shot Scranton 16-5, landing three shots on goal which were turned aside by Royals' keeper Mackenzie Van Arsdale.

Marlee Scanlon accounted for two of NYU's three shots on goal, while Rena Kalargiros had the other.

The Violets open University Athletic Association (UAA) competition this Saturday when they face the University of Chicago in the Windy City. Kick-off is set for 12:00pm central time.
