The New York University men's soccer team earned its first win of the 2025 season with a 4-0 victory over Misericordia University on Sunday, September 14, at Lubetkin Field in Newark, NJ.
Three different Violets scored a goal on the afternoon, including a two-goal performance by
Giulio Potenti.
Potenti's first goal of the contest came less than five minutes into the match, as
Felix Dyckerhoff headed a pass in front of the net, which the former promptly buried.
Just over 30 minutes into the game, Potenti scored again, this time unassisted. NYU quickly went back down the field a minute later, as
Felipe Remon found the back of the net off of a pass from
Terra Nagai.
In the 80th minute,
Kyle Sakalosky took a one-time shot off of a pass from
Demir Calkap and registered his first career goal. It was also Calkap's first career assist.
As a team, the Violets outshot Misericordia 15-6 and allowed just one shot on goal.
Ludvig Hilberts saved the lone shot he faced in the match and registered his first career shutout.
NYU will now travel to Madison, NJ, to take on Drew University on Saturday, September 20, at 3pm.
