On Wednesday, February 19, the
#1 New York University men's volleyball team played St. Joseph's University Long Island in the John A. Paulson Center.
The Violets (14-0) took care of business against the Golden Eagles (2-6), winning in straight sets (25-15, 25-17, 25-17).
"It's a long season and its really hard to maintain a winning streak for this long. The young men are doing the job they are trained to do," said Head Coach Jose Pina.
Lucas Osiecki was a stand-out of the match. He led the team in kills, digs, and aces, posting 11, eight, and two, respectively.
Buddy Cohen was a force on offense recording eight kills with no errors.
Jerry Feng posted four digs, while
Devyn Nguyen had a strong match with 34 assists.
"We are facing a lot of tough competition as we head into conference play. We have to make sure we continue to play winning volleyball," said Pina.
The Violets return to the court on Saturday, February 22, where they will match up with
#20 Massachusetts Institute of Technology at 2pm in the John A. Paulson Center.
