The top-ranked New York University women's basketball team extended its nation-long winning streak to 67 games with its 114-34 win over John Jay College on Monday, November 24, at the John A. Paulson Center in Manhattan.
The Violets (5-0) scored the first six points of the game and led the rest of the way. NYU has yet to trail this season and has scored at least 99 points in every game, averaging 109.4 points per game.
NYU led 33-6 after the first quarter.
The Violets scored the first 11 points of the second quarter and led 63-10 at halftime.
The lead expanded to 92-21 at the end of the third quarter.
Olivia Lagao scored a game-high 23 points, while
Zahra Alexander contributed 21 points and seven rebounds.
Brooke Batchelor grabbed a game-high eight rebounds while also scoring nine points.
Aila Kaibara (16),
Megan Ohonde (11) and
Caitlin Kenney (10) also scored in double figures, with Kenny adding a career-high eight assists.
The Violets return to the court this weekend when they compete at the Betty Shabazz Tournament at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, NY. NYU faces Colby College in their first game on Saturday at 2:00pm.
