The New York University men's basketball team traveled to Purchase, NY, to face Manhattanville University on Saturday, November 22, and the Violets came away with a 75-57 victory.
With the win, the Violets improve to 4-0.
The Violets got on the board first with a three-pointer from Darren Rubin, which laid the foundation for their steady lead. Bryan Moussako and Carnegie Johnson each added their own threes as NYU built its largest lead to 30-11.
The Violets led 38-24 at halftime.
NYU raced out of halftime with a 9-2 scoring run, which included a three-pointer and a pair of free throws from Johnson.
The lead increased to as many as 24 points, 75-51, in the final minutes.
Rubin led the Violets with 20 points. Three other Violets scored in double figures: Johnson (13), Declan McIntyre (11) and Luke Kolaja (10).
Jonathan Sigurdsson contributed a career-high 10 rebounds for the Violets.
The Violets return to action on Wednesday, November 26, when they travel to Thousand Oaks, CA, to take on California Lutheran University at 2:00 PM pacific time.
