The
top-ranked New York University women's basketball team scored at least 100 points for the fifth time this season after defeating host Skidmore College 100-54 on Saturday, January 4, in Saratoga Springs, NY.
The Violets are now 11-0 this season and have the longest current winning streak, 42 games, in the NCAA.
NYU held the hosts to single digits in taking a 27-8 lead after the first quarter.
The lead grew to 53-22 at halftime.
NYU again held Skidmore to eight points in the third quarter and ended the session with a 75-30 lead.
Madison Goodhart's layup in the final minute gave NYU its 100th point.
Four Violets scored in double figures, with
Belle Pellecchia leading the way with 16 points. She also had five rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Mary Kate Fahey finished with 14 points, including 4-of-6 from behind the arc.
Caroline Peper recorded 11 points and a game-high seven assists, while
Jamie Behar added 10 points.
Eden Williamson contributed a career-high seven rebounds for the Violets.
NYU will begin University Athletic Association (UAA) play next Saturday, January 11. The Violets will host Brandeis University at 3:00pm at the John A. Paulson Center in Manhattan.
