The
#2 ranked New York University men's volleyball team recorded another win in Lisle, IL, on Saturday night by sweeping the Benedictine University Eagles, who are receiving five votes from coaches in the AVCA DIII Preseason Poll.
The Violets won their second consecutive match in straight sets against the Eagles 25-12, 25-20, 25-21.
The third set saw the Eagles gain momentum closing the gap to three points at 24-21. But, a net violation and a kill from
Lucas Osiecki turned the tide back in favor of the Violets and they won with a block.
Match leaders included
Emerson Evans with 14 kills while
Luke Boyer recorded 10.
Devyn Nguyen had a strong performance as well with 37 assists. On the defensive side, Boyer led the team with 18 digs while libero
Zach Knudsen followed with 12.
On Sunday afternoon the Violets face the North Central College Cardinals in Naperville, IL. The match begins at 1pm central.
