The New York University women's soccer team, after posting a pair of 0-0 ties last weekend to open the 2024 season, earned its first victory with a 6-1 win over Husson University on Saturday, September 7, at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.
The Violets (1-0-2),
currently ranked #10 in the nation, scored early and often in this one-sided affair.
Riley Mullady's goal gave NYU the lead just 3:02 into the contest.
Rena Kalargiros tallied the second goal at 17:45 assisted by
Jessica Tonthat, and Mullady added an assist on
Yukino Wakatsuki's goal less than two minutes later (19:21).
The Violet went into halftime leading 3-0.
Soon after play resumed,
Hope Neale was assisted by
Kelli Keady at 46:25 and NYU added its fourth goal.
Wakatsuki produced her second goal of the game at 63:45, and
Alexa Buxbaum capped the NYU scoring five minutes later (69:25).
The Eagles' only tally came at 81:27.
The Violets finished with a huge advantage in shots (28-5) and shots on goal (20-5).

The Violets are right back in action tomorrow when they play host Stevens at 4:00pm.
