Women's Tennis Completes Day Two of UAA Championship

Violets Defeated by Brandeis 5-1

The New York University women's tennis team was defeated by Brandeis University 5-1 on Saturday, April 27, their second day of action at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship.

The Violets lost all three doubles matches. Isabella Hartman and Dakota Fordham were edged 8-6 in their #1 matchup. Jimena Menendez and Aditi Narayan were bested 8-5 in the #2 match and Tess Heber and Hannah Chang lost 8-4 in their #3.

The Violets only had one win in singles, a 6-1, 6-2 victory by Fordham in her #2 match against Budhbhatti Chahana.

"I think the girls responded well, and really kind of took it upon themselves to compete all the way to the end and for each other, and really kind of pushed themselves," said Head Coach Horace Choy.

The Violets will return to the courts tomorrow, April 28, for their final day of the UAA Championship when they face the University of Rochester in the seventh-place match.
