The New York University women's soccer team completed its regular-season slate with a 2-1 University Athletic Association (UAA) victory over Brandeis University on Saturday, November 9, in Waltham, MA.
The victory lifted NYU's record to 10-2-6 (2-2-3), while Brandeis fell to 9-7-1 (0-6-1)
The
#18-ranked Violets fell behind in the game's 23rd minute when Sydney Lenhart's goal put the Judges up 1-0.
The score remained the same until just after halftime when
Kelli Keady notched her team-leading seventh goal of the season off an assist from
Eileen Xu at 51:17.
NYU took the lead at 79:32 as
Carmen Cicerini recorded her first goal of the season unassisted.
Neither team scored again as the Violets held on for the victory.
NYU out-shot Brandeis 25-7, 10-3 on goal.
Riley Felsher made two saves en route to her 10th victory of the season.
The Violets now await a bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, with the official field announcement set to be made on Monday at 2:00pm.
