Women's Soccer Draws in Pittsburgh

Violets Tie Carnegie Mellon 0-0

The #18-ranked New York University women's soccer team played to a scoreless tie with the #7-ranked Carnegie Mellon University Tartans on Sunday, November 3, in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Violets had the better chances in the first half of the University Athletic Association (UAA) contest, notching six shots. However, none of them was on the Carnegie Mellon goal. The Tartans managed three shots, all in a spell of 15 minutes.

Both teams found it hard to carve out chances in the second half, as well. Carnegie Mellon recorded four shots and NYU managed two.

NYU's graduate student goalkeeper Riley Felsher recorded her ninth shutout of this season, making three saves. The Tartans managed seven shots in total to NYU's eight.

Freshman Julia Spang led NYU with two shots, one landing on goal

The Violets play their final match of the regular season on Saturday, November 9, against Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.
