The New York University men's soccer team fell to Washington University in St. Louis, 2-0, on Saturday, October 19, in St. Louis, MO.
It was the first time all season the Violets had been held scoreless.
Less than 16 minutes into the match, the Bears went up 1-0 after Zach Susee found the back of the net. Overall, WashU outshot NYU 10-2 in the first half.
The Bears carried their momentum over into the second half as they scored an insurance goal in the 81st minute off the foot of Carter Sasser. The Violets were able to take just three more shots in the final 45 minutes and suffered their second straight defeat.
Jackson McCloskey tied a season-high with 10 saves on the afternoon.
NYU returns to action on Friday, October 25, when it welcomes the University of Rochester to the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in Newark, NJ. Game time is set for 7:45pm.
