The
#17-ranked New York University women's soccer team earned its first University Athletic Association (UAA) win of the season, defeating the University of Chicago 2-0 on Saturday, October 12, in Newark, NJ, at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
In the 30th minute of the match,
Bryce Chan provided the first goal of the contest after
Riley Mullady dished out the assist inside of the box. Just 35 seconds later,
Kelli Keady buried a shot into the low center of the goal to extend NYU's advantage to 2-0.
The Violets held the Maroons to without a shot in the first half.
UChicago did not register a shot until the 69th minute, which was just one of two shots on goal for the night. The Maroons took four more shots over the final 21 minutes, but could not find the back of the net.
Riley Felsher made two saves in net and recorded her seventh shutout of the season for NYU.
The Violets return to action on Wednesday, October 16, when they faces Mount St. Mary College back at NJIT in Newark. Game time is set for 7:00pm.
