Violets Maintain Unbeaten Record

Women's Soccer Wins on the Road

The #16-ranked New York University women's soccer team continued its undefeated season with a 1-0 win against the University of Scranton in Scranton, PA, on Tuesday, October 1.

The Violets are now 7-0-3 heading into their first University Athletic Association conference match this weekend.

Hunter Hoelscher was on the score sheet again, producing the only goal of the game with a top-left corner finish in the 13th minute. Elizabeth Argenziano recorded her third assist of the season for Hoelscher's fourth goal of the campaign.

The Royals did not register a shot on goal until the second half, when they tallied four. In the 83rd minute, a shot by Scranton's Emily Tantala rang the crossbar, but stayed out of the net to keep NYU ahead.

NYU goalkeeper Riley Felsher logged her fifth shutout of the season, making all four saves to keep Scranton scoreless. NYU out-shot Scranton 15-10, including 7-4 on goal, continuing their great attacking momentum.

The Violets return to the pitch to start their UAA campaign against Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, October 5, at 11:00am in Cleveland, OH.
