Keady Scores Hat Trick in Violets 6-0 Win

Violets Extend Their Record to 6-0

The New York University women's soccer team secured a 6-0 win over William Paterson University on Wednesday, September 20, at Lubetkin Field in Newark, NJ.

"I think we executed really well in the first half," said Head Coach Scott Waddell. "We were able to score four goals, some quality goals at that. The play was aggressive and thoughtful, so I was really pleased with the first half."

Makenzie Rodrigues got the Violets started at 4:38 with a header assisted by Riley Mullady to give the Violets the lead.

Gabriella Funk set up Dominique Bevacqua two minutes later at 6:45 to score the second. Bevacqua sent a ball straight into the upper right corner to finish.

Funk got her own goal at 25:17 with a tap in off a pass from Jessica Tonthat

Kelli Keady added to the Violets lead with a shot right down the center of the goal at 42:00, making the score 4-0.

Keady secured a brace at 58:38 with a ball slipped in by Bevacqua, increasing the Violets lead to five.

At 62:21, Keady rounded out her hat trick, tallying her third goal of the night.

Tyler Hawkins made two saves in net for NYU. The 6-0 Violets' backline has yet to be scored upon this season.

NYU out-shot WPU 29-4, 15-2 on goal.

The Violets return to the field Saturday, September 23, in Farmingdale, NY, where they take on Farmingdale State College at 2:30pm.
