The New York University's men's soccer team returned home to Newark, NJ, against Penn-State Harrisburg where they fell 1-0 continuing their four-game winless streak.
A goal from Penn State Harrisburg's Daniel Fombu at 50:32 was the only ball that made it to the back of the net. The play began with a free kick but after bouncing around in the box, it was Fombu who sealed the deal, and the win, for Penn State.
NYU out-shot PSU 8-6. However, the Lions had more on goal, 6-5 over the Violets.
Luca Mancuso made five saves for the Violets.
The Violets had seven corners, while the Lions had zero.
Eric Smits led with three shots and Nathan Bennett followed with two.
NYU returns to action on Tuesday, September 19, at 7pm on the road against Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.
