The New York University women's soccer team continues their unbeaten 4-0 run to open the season with a 3-0 win over Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday, September 10, in Hoboken, NJ.
The Violets have yet to concede a goal this season.
"I'm extremely proud of the team," said Head Coach Scott Waddell, "They were fantastic today. We beat a strong Stevens team on their pitch which is not easy to do."
Hope Neale scored first for the Violets with an unassisted goal at 6:01.
The second goal came four minutes later at 10:54 when Riley Mullady set up a goal for Makenzie Rodrigues to give the Violets a 2-0 advantage.
At the end of the first half, NYU had out-shot Stevens 12-4.
The final goal came for the Violets from Gabriella Funk off an assist from Jessica Tonthat at 68:48.
NYU finished the match with 20 shots, 10 of which were on goal.
The back line did not allow a single shot on goal.
"The energy from the entire group was palpable and that was especially great to feel," Waddell added, "We will enjoy the win but we are still only four games into a long season. The work continues."
The Violets return to action on Sunday, September 17, against St. Joseph's University Long Island in Patchogue, NY.
