The New York University men's tennis team dropped to 1-2 in dual meets this spring season after losing to Swarthmore College 7-2 on Saturday, February 25, in Swarthmore, PA.
The Violets were swept in doubles, although NYU's #2 duo of
Alex Lee and
Boren Zheng were nipped by the Garnet's Michael Melnikov and Rushii Patel 8-7.
At the #3 singles spot, Zheng locked up with Patel again and recorded a straight-set victory 7-6 (6), 6-1.
Joseph He was NYU's only other singles winner. Playing just a pro set against Swarthmore's Andres Fente, He was victorious at #4 8-2.
After having played three matches in four days, the Violets now will wait a week until their next competition, hosting Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) on Saturday, March 4, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx, NY. First serves are set for 12:00pm.
