The New York University men's tennis team opened its 2023 spring slate with a 9-0 victory over Yeshiva University on Wednesday, February 22, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx, NY.
The Violets only dropped two games in the entire match.
NYU's doubles teams each recorded 8-0 victories, while five of the six singles matches went 6-0, 6-0.
Only at #1 singles did the Violets drop a game, as NYU's Zach Freier defeated Yeshiva's Yoni Mayer 6-1, 6-1.
Joseph He,
Boren Zheng,
Andy Watterson,
Rumaish Khastgir and
Devan Sabapathy all won 6-0, 6-0 at the remaining singles flights.
He and Watterson teamed up at first doubles, Zheng and
Alex Lee won at second doubles and Freier/Sabapathy played third doubles.
The Violets return to the court on Friday, February 24, for a match against Haverford College in Haverford, PA. Play is set to begin at 6:30pm.
