#20 Women's Soccer Draws with #12 Rochester

UAA Contest Ends in 0-0 Tie

New York University's 20th-ranked women's soccer team started its weekend road trip with a scoreless draw against undefeated 12th-ranked UAA opponent University of Rochester on Friday, October 20, in Rochester, NY.

The game brought the Violets record to 10-2-1 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play.

Kelli Keady, Makenzie Rodrigues, Catie Collins, and Bryce Chan each attempted two shots for the Violets.

"We weren't as fluid in possession as we would have wanted to be today. But, the effort was really strong from the team," said Head Coach Scott Waddell.

Rochester's goalkeeper Grace Kuropatkin made six saves to keep the Violets from finding the back of the net. Tyler Hawkins recorded two saves for NYU to keep the clean sheet.

NYU had the advantage in shots (10-6) and shots on goal (6-2).

"I thought we deserved more on the night. That said, we can be proud of a UAA point on the road against an undefeated University of Rochester team that is ranked 12th in the nation," Waddell added.

The Violets continue their road trip, heading down to Atlanta, GA, to take on Emory University on Sunday, October 22, at 11am.
