The New York University men's soccer team displayed a prolific offense, defeating Hunter College 9-0 on Wednesday, September 7, on Randall's Island in Manhattan.
The onslaught began with a goal by
Nathan Bennett (one of two on the night) at 13:27 and concluded with
Felipe Remon's first collegiate goal at 67:18.
In between, six more Violets tickled the twine, with
Joe Leslie contributing two of them.
Russell Koshkin also netted his first collegiate goal in the 40th minute, off an assist from
Rafael Panero-Ren.
Bryce Lexow logged his team-leading third tally of the season while
Arkan Tahsildaroglu and
Nicholas Suter also found the back of the net.
The Violets (2-0-1) out-shot the Hawks (0-3-0) 33-2 as
Luca Mancuso recorded the shutout by turning back both Hunter shots.
The Violets are back in action on Saturday, September 10, when they host SUNY New Paltz in their home opener at Gaelic Park. Scheduled start time is 12:00pm.
