Kelli Keady produced a pair of goals to lead New York University's women's soccer team over Sarah Lawrence College, 4-0, on Monday night at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY.
The Violets are still undefeated on the year (4-0-4), picking up their sixth clean sheet through eight contests. NYU has now scored 16 goals in its last two outings after defeating Centenary Unviersity (NJ), 12-0, on Saturday.
Tonight's match was scoreless until the 28th minute, when
Caitlin Fong sent a long ball into the box that Keady corralled and struck with her left foot to the far side to make it 1-0 NYU.
Keady's second tally came in the 40th as
Shannon Watridge sent a strong cross from the right corner to the front of the net that Keady headed in for her team-leading fifth goal of 2022.
The Violets led 2-0 at the break, out-shooting SLC 12-1 during the opening 45 minutes.
Tate Jordan made it 3-0 NYU in the 61st minute, netting her fourth goal of the year with a laser from 20 yards out into the top corner of the net.
Less than two minutes later,
Gabriella Funk picked up her fourth goal of the season as well with another unassisted strike for the final scoring play of the night.
NYU led 23-4 in shots on the night while the Gryphons attempted four corner kicks to the Violets' one.
As they've done all year,
Riley Felsher and
Tyler Hawkins split the match in net for NYU with Hawkins saving the visitors' lone shot on goal.
This marked the final non-league tuneup for the Violets as they open University Athletic Association (UAA) play next, heading to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, on Saturday, October 1.
