Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Jordan Scores as Violets Draw at William Paterson

NYU remains undefeated in 2022

Graduate transfer Tate Jordan's 63rd-minute goal led New York University's women's soccer team to a 1-1 draw at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ, on Wednesday night.

The Violets collected their fourth draw of the year and maintained their perfect record, now sitting at 2-0-4 for the season.

William Paterson took the lead in the first half in shocking fashion when Julia Fiorito scored on a breakaway chip shot in the 29th minute. Fiorito's tally was the Pioneers' only shot of the entire game while NYU attempted 11 in the first half alone.

Jordan netted the equalizer 17 minutes into the second half, however, finishing a pass from Jayla Lee to level the score at one.

It was Jordan's second goal as a Violet after transferring to NYU from Division I American University where she led the team in points last season.

The Violets outshot William Paterson 19-1, marking the fourth time they've led in shots by double digits through six matches.

NYU also led 6-2 in corner kicks while Pioneer keeper Sarah Mantilla made seven saves on the night.

The women's soccer squad is right back at it on Saturday, September 24, with another road fixture in New Jersey at Centenary University. Kickoff from Hackettstown is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
