The New York University baseball team was defeated by Salve Regina University 10-3 on Saturday, April 23, in Newport, RI.
The Violets (18-11) will also be facing the Seahawks (17-9-2) on Sunday.
The hosts got off to a quick start on Saturday, scoring a run in the first inning off NYU starter
Tyler Judge.
However, the Violets scored an unearned run in the top of the fifth to tie the game.
In the bottom of the frame, Salve Regina scored five runs to take a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
NYU battled back in the top of the sixth with a pair of runs.
Cam Dunn led off with a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch. He scored on a single by
Connor Roggero, who wound up scoring on another Seahawk error.
But, that was it for the Violets who were blanked the rest of the way.
Dunn and
Nick Argenziano each had a pair of hits for NYU.
Sunday's game is set to begin at 12:00pm.
