The New York University Softball Team was defeated by University Athletic Association (UAA) opponent Case Western Reserve University 8-0 on Saturday, March 26, in Cleveland, OH.
Playing at an indoor facility on the campus of Cleveland State University due to inclement weather, the Violets' offense never got untracked as the team was blanked for the second time this season.
NYU (5-10, 0-2) only managed four hits and committed four errors in the five-inning affair, while the Spartans (10-6, 2-0) capitalized by scoring seven unearned runs.
Marina Egbert (3-5) started for the Violets, allowing three hits and only one earned run in her 2.1 innings of work.
Elisabeth Smith had two of the Violets' four hits in the contest.
The two teams complete their three-game series on Sunday morning at 10:00am back at Cleveland State.
