Violets Now 2-1

The New York University Men's Volleyball Team, ranked #4 in the nation by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, traveled to uptown Manhattan and defeated Hunter College 3-0 (25-12, 27-25, 25-14) on Wednesday, February 2.

The Violets (2-1) opened the match by scoring the first four points and never trailed in the first set.

In the second set, NYU fell behind 19-14 before scoring seven of the next eight points to take the lead. The teams then alternated points until consecutive kills by Lucas Osiecki and Robbie Allen clinched the set for the Violets.

The final set was never in doubt as NYU raced out to a 12-3 lead and were never seriously threatened by the Hawks (0-2).

"It was a strong performance by our players. Hunter is always a challenging opponent and we were able to control the match," said Head Coach Jose Pina. "We were able to play all of the young guys and they all came through when called upon."
