The New York University Men's Volleyball Team, ranked
#4 by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, was defeated by Endicott College in four sets at the Morgan Classic hosted by Springfield College in Springfield, MA, on Friday, February 4.
The Violets (2-2) won the first set 25-15, but dropped the final three by scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-21.
Endicott is unbeaten this season (4-0).
"It was a tough loss against a strong opponent," said Head Coach Jose Pina. "Endicott made an adjustment to their serving and went more aggressive at our seams. We did not react well to this and pressed on our own serving. That was the tale of the match. Endicott received better than us and were able to make our offense more predictable."
BY THE NUMBERS:
-
Lucas Osiecki led NYU with 11 kills.
-
James Haag finished with eight kills and four blocks.
-
Ryan Whealen led the squad with 22 assists.
The Violets are right back in action on Saturday in their second match of the Classic.
