The New York University women's soccer team won its first University Athletic Association (UAA) contest of the season, defeating the University of Chicago 2-1 on Friday, October 28, in Riverdale, NY.
The Violets scored both of their goals early in the contest.
Tate Jordan put NYU on the board after taking a cross from
Gabriella Funk and burying it into the net at 9:18.
Just three minutes later,
Dominique Bevacqua doubled the Violets' lead following an assist from
Kelli Keady (12:13).
The Maroons crept within one on an unassisted goal by Hannah Rittenhouse at 63:04.
Riley Felsher recorded the victory in net for NYU.
The Violets play their final home game of the season this Sunday, October 30, when they host Washington University in St. Louis on Senior Day at 1:30pm.
