New York University's women's soccer team fell to University of Rochester, 1-0, on Saturday in a University Athletic Association (UAA) contest at Fauver Stadium in Rochester, NY.
The Yellowjackets' Robin de Jong scored the lone goal of match in the 67th minute as UR improved to 7-2-4 (2-1-1 UAA) on the year while the Violets fell to 5-3-5 (0-3-1).
Both sides attempted eight shots, three on target for each team.
NYU's
Riley Felsher and UR's Gabby Sabatier both had two saves in the first half, with the hosts leading 5-3 in total shots, as the match remained scoreless after 45 minutes.
Julie Beedle had an on-target shot saved 57 seconds after resuming play for the Violets' lone shot on goal of the second half.
Rochester only had one accurate shot in the second as well, but it was de Jong's finish at the left post on a cross from Sam Hawkins to break the impasse.
Tate Jordan had a team-high three shot attempts for NYU while Felsher finished with two saves.
The Violets have over a week before their next outing, heading to Kean University on Monday, October 24, for a 7:30 p.m. start in Union, NJ.
