Paterson added one run in the second and two more in the fourth for a 6-1 lead.
In the top of the sixth, NYU scored its only other run of the game following Nicholas Argenziano's double and

The Pioneers added their final run in the bottom of the eighth.
Zane Baker (Bellevue, WA/Lakeside School) reached base four times, recording two of the Violets' seven hits. He also drew a walk, was hit by a pitch and stole a base.
"Zane has really started seeing the ball well in BP the past couple of days and he had four really good at-bats today," said Head Coach
Doug Kimbler.
Michael Santorum (Hilton Head Island, SC/IMG Academy) pitched a scoreless inning for NYU. He was followed by
Zach Cohen (Corte Madera, CA/Redwood), who pitched the final two innngs and allowed the final run.
"The guys have to understand that getting to the field and just starting to prepare is not the answer," Kimbler explained. "Preparation starts two days before and five days before. Our preparation just has to get better."
The Violets are right back in action tomorrow when they host Stevens at 3:00pm at MCU Park in Coney Island.
