The New York University women's volleyball team won its final match at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Round Robin #1, defeating Case Western Reserve University in four sets on Sunday, September 22, at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.
The Violets (12-3, 1-2 UAA) defeated the Spartans (4-11, 0-3) for the first time since the 2013 UAA Championship.

"Yesterday's matches (close losses to the University of Chicago and Washington University in St. Louis) gave us valued experience against top teams in the country," revealed Head Coach
Andrew Brown. "We were able to put that into play today against a really strong Case Western Reserve team. Our setters did a great job at running our offense."
Two Violets,
Haley Holz (Palatine, IL /Palatine) (13) and
Gretchen Kincade (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) (11) recorded double-digit kills on Sunday. Another pair of Violets,
Nicole Dao (Bethesda, MD/The Academy of Holy Cross) (21) and
Veronica Johnson (Santa Monica, CA/Santa Monica) (15) had double-digit assists.

Jacqueline Kupeli (Danville, CA/Monte Vista) (24),
Lauren Robinson (Honolulu, HI/Punahou School) (16) and Holz (10) were the others,
"Today's win was a total team effort," Brown said. "This weekend gives us confidence that we have established an NYU brand of volleyball in the tough UAA, and we look to build on this with next week's matches."
The victory on Sunday was Brown's 100th as an NCAA Division III head coach.
"To get that win in conference feels good," Brown admitted. "I've coached a lot of special teams and players to reach this milestone in my career and the credit goes to them!"
The Violets return to action this Thursday, September 26, when they travel to the Bronx to face Lehman College at 7:00pm
