The New York University women's volleyball team wrapped up play at the Ducks Classic on Saturday, September 16. The two-day event was hosted by Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.
NYU (3-9) took on its second-straight ranked opponent in its first match of the day, falling to #19 (American Volleyball Coaches Association poll) Eastern University in straight sets. The Violets then took on Arcadia University and fell to the Knights in four sets.
The Violets were never able to get into a rhythm against the Eagles (7-3), falling by scores of 25-13, 25-18, 25-13.
NYU took the first set against Arcadia (7-2) 25-23, but could not hold the advantage and dropped the final three by scores of 25-21, 25-11, 25-20. The Violets led 20-19 in the final set, but the Knights scored the final six points of the match.
Caroline Rapp led all players with 14 kills in the contest, while
Grace Napolitano totaled a match-high 27 digs.

- Eleven of NYU's 12 matches so far this season have been played in the state of New Jersey.
"Our defense kept us competitive," Ward added. "We will continue to work on terminating at critical moments."
The Violets return to action on Wednesday, September 20, when they head back to Hoboken to take on Stevens Tech. First serve is slated for 7:00pm.
