The New York University women's soccer team fell 1-0 to host Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday, September 10, the second day of the 2017 Engineers' Cup.
With the loss, NYU fell to 2-2 on the season, while the Ducks improved to 2-1-1.
Stevens Tech scored the game's lone goal in the 44th minute as Taylor Schaad found the net from the top of the box.
The Violets almost doubled the Ducks' shot total (25-13), but were unable to solve Lindsey Mahnken, who made saves on all five NYU shots on goal.
Sophia Danielsen, who made her first-career start in goal for NYU, also made five saves.

Charlotte Herbertz each led the Violets with five shots on the afternoon. Benedict led the way with two on target.
NYU will look to get back in the win column on Saturday, September 16, when it hosts Mount Saint Mary College at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY. Kickoff is slated for 6:00pm.
