The New York University baseball team was defeated 12-6 by visiting Brandeis University in University Athletic Association (UAA) action on Easter Sunday, April 16, at MCU Park in Coney Island.
NYU (14-10, 3-5 UAA) split the four-game weekend series with Brandeis (3-16, 2-10 UAA). All four games were played at MCU Park.
Brandeis struck first with three runs in the first inning on Sunday, before NYU scored runs in the third and fifth to pull within one.
The Judges broke the game open in the seventh with eight more runs to go ahead 11-2.
NYU scored twice in the eighth and ninth innings to cut into the deficit, but Brandeis held on for the 12-6 win and a series split.

Ryan McLaughlin each recorded a pair of hits to lead the Violets' offensive attack. McLaughlin also led the squad with two RBIs.
The Violets will return to action on Friday, April 21, when they open up a four-game UAA series at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. First pitch against the Eagles is slated for 3:00 pm.
