The New York University women's soccer team fell 3-2 to Stevens Institute of Technology, ranked #4 in the most recent
d3soccer.com poll, on Sunday, September 11, at the De Baun Athletic Complex in Hoboken, NJ.
After conceding a goal to the Ducks' Misha Brewster 7:50 into the match, the Violets responded 16 minutes later with a
Teressa Fazio goal on an assist from
Alex Benedict.
Zisi Komar regained the lead for Stevens at 32:14. McKennah Spagnola equalized again for NYU midway through the second half. The game remained tied through the remainder of regulation until the Ducks won on a sudden-death goal five minutes into the second overtime on Brewster's second goal of the day.
"I am very proud of the team's performance. We came from behind twice to tie the game on the road against a solid team," said NYU Head Coach Michelle Canning. "We are disappointed with the result, but happy with how we competed throughout the game."
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Stevens outshot NYU 28-7 and had a 14-5 edge in shots on target.

The Violets return to the pitch on Wednesday, September 14, when they travel to Farmingdale, NY, to take on Farmingdale State College at 4 PM.
